Kirmani, one of India’s greatest wicketkeepers believes that Saha should get an equal chance as Pant as he was injured. Feeling that Pant’s performance has been inconsistent especially his unwise selection of shots. His performance in the recently concluded ICC mega event and the on-going West Indies tour has been of great disappointment.

Kirmani has played 88 Tests for Indian side, suggests equal opportunity for Saha. He stated that not everyone can become a Wicket-keeper just by wearing gloves, what’s the point of having them on the team if they don’t get to play? Emphasizing on that fact that players must be assessed on the basis of their performance. Saha came into the Indian team due to his consistently good performance at the domestic level. He also suggested that MS Dhoni needs to train and polish the young wicketkeepers before he opts for retirement.
