Indian team captain Virat Kohli breaks his silence over the speculated rumours revolving around a rift between him and vice-captain Rohit Sharma. The rumours had surfaced after the team’s return from recenty concluded ICC’s mega event where India suffered an unexpected defeat in the Semi-Finals against New Zealand.
Kohli spoke while addressing to the speculations over the rift, he said “In my opinion, it’s baffling. It’s absolutely ridiculous to read these kind of stuff. I have been to public events where we have been praised and here we are feeding off lies.” Feeling disappointed with people’s reaction, he stated that “turning a blind eye on all the good things, here we choose to create our own fantasies in our heads and are willing to accept them as the truth is disrespectful.”
Kohli further spoke of the heathy environment in the team where they maintain a light atmosphere. He said, “Come and see how we talk to Kuldeep Yadav, how we respect our seniors like MS Dhoni. If the team atmosphere hadn’t been good then we wouldn’t have succeeded.”
Head coach Ravi Shastri also made an addition to Virat’s voice, he said “No nonsense in the team, not a single individual is greater than the team.”
Further, Virat Kohli spoke in support of Rohit Sharma and stated that he always praised Rohit whenever there’s an opportunity because he is a fabulous player.
