Indian skipper Virat Kohli, has a chance to break multiple records in the Test series against West Indies that is to begin on 22 August. Virat Kohli will equal MS Dhoni’s record of winning the most matches as a captain of the Indian team after winning the first Test match. Virat also has a chance to break the record of Australian legendary cricketer Don Bradman.
With the spectacular form, as the skipper smashed two back-to-back centuries in the ODI series against the Indies. If he continues his form in the Test series in the Caribbeans, then Kohli can match the Great Bradman’s record. The Australian legend has scored 29 incredible centuries in Test cricket and Kohli has a golden chance to equal his score. Currently, the Indian skipper has 25 Test centuries up his sleeves, just four short of Bradman’s record. As they say ‘Nothing is impossible’ and with the skipper’s current form, if he scores a century in all the four innings of the two Tests, Kohli can match Bradman record.
This will be Kohli’s 47th Test as the most successful captain of the Indian team. A Test win can equal him to Dhoni’s record of winning the most matches as a captain. Dhoni has 27 Test wins to his record, whereas Virat Kohli has 26 as captain.
Virat Kohli has scored 686 runs in 15 Test innings against West Indies, with an average of 45.73. The Indian team is to play two Tests against West Indies.
