
As India plays their last group match against Sri Lanka before the Semi-Finals, Indian captain Virat Kohli fulfilled an 87-year old Charulata Patel’s dream of watching India play live in the World Cup.
Virat Kohli kept his promise and provided the 87 year-old superfan tickets for watching their match at Headingley on Saturday.
The Indian captain promised Patel to provide her with the tickets of the remainder of the tournament when he had met her after the match against Bangladesh on Tuesday.
He also sent a special message for her saying, “Dear Charulata ji, It is so inspiring to see your love and passion for our team and I hope you enjoy the games with your family. Lots of love and regards.”
After match against Bangladesh, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma went to see Charulata Patel where Kohli was seen touching her feet to take her blessings which is the base of Indian culture where youngsters seek blessings from the elders.
Virat Kohli tweeted an image of himself with Charulata Patel, thanking her for the love and support.
