Virat Kohli makes history with the first Test win against West Indies

The Indian team defeated West Indies by a huge margin of 318 runs on the last day of the first Test match at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua, taking 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series. With this victory, India achieved many big records:

Captain Virat Kohli has now become the first Indian captain to win the most number of matches in Test cricket on foreign land. Surpassing leading Indian captains including Sourav Ganguly and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Kohli has played 25 Test matches on foreign soil from which he has come out victorious in 12.

With the spectacular win against West Indies on Sunday, Virat Kohli has equaled former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni for most wins in longer formats. Virat Kohli has won 27 out of 47 games, while MS Dhoni has won 27 out of 60 matches.

Sunday’s match marked the biggest win for Indian team based on the number of runs outside home.

Ajinkya Rahane became the fourth player to have scored most centuries while batting at number five in Test Cricket. He has scored nine centuries.
