The man who has taken the Indian cricket team to new heights has recently opened up about his struggle with Math during his school years.
The captain who brought back a victorious team after a month long West Indies tour where they defeated the host in all three formats disclosed details of his school performance on a TV show. The skipper revealed that Math was a subject of least interest to him in his schooling days. He stated that he has never worked harder than he did for passing his math exams.
“So in Math we used to have exams and the maximum marks we could get is 100, right? I used to get 3, I was that good. I did not understand, why someone would even want to learn Math.” Kohli stated in a sports web show, ‘In Depth with Graham Bensinger’.
He revealed that Math was a subject that was too complicated and he never understood it and has never used the formulas learnt.
He added, “I just wanted to get through my 10th grade exam because they used to happen at a state level and after that you could chose if you wanted to continue with it or not. I’m telling you, I’ve never worked that hard in cricket the way I did to pass in that exam.” Admitting that he was never the smartest student at school but was good enough to grasp things easily.
