
Being a fabulous batsman that he is, Indian captain Virat Kohli has once again proved his worth as he achieved a record of becoming the fastest batsman to score 20,000 international runs in all forms of cricket.
From his decade long career, on Thursday he reached a landmark that surpassed cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara in his 417th international innings when he hit 37. Tendulkar and Lara had reached the landmark of 20,000 international runs in 453 innings.
The 30 year old cricketer, who also became the fastest to score 11,000 One-Day International runs during his innings against Pakistan on 16 June at Old Trafford. He has played 131 Test, 224 ODIs and 62 T20s in his career so far. He has scored 6613 runs in Tests and 2263 runs in T20Is till now.
In the on-going ICC World Cup 2019, Virat Kohli had showcased solid form. After failing against South Africa, the Indian captain pulled himself together and scored 82 against Australia, 77 against Pakistan and 67 against Afghanistan and 77 against West Indies.
