
Former Pakistan captain Waqar Younis has questioned Team India’s ‘sportsmanship’ after India’s first defeat of the ICC World Cup 2019 to the host team leaving Pakistan’s chances to qualify for the Semi-Finals hanging by the thread.
Pakistan were stacking on India who have been unbeatable in the tournament. Another win would have increased Pakistan’s chances to making the Semi-Finals.
On Sunday, India suffered their first defeat of the mega tournament where England came out victorious by 31 runs. Chasing 337, the Indian team managed 306/5 leaving them with 11 points.
Younis taking on Twitter said, “It’s not who you are.. What you do in life defines who you are.. Me not bothered if Pakistan gets to the semis or not but one thing is for sure.. Sportsmanship of few Champions got tested and they failed badly.”
Earlier, former Pakistan cricketers Basit Ali and Sikander Bakht had stated that India may loss to the host team on purpose to expel Pakistan from the prestigious tournament.
After Sunday’s win, England is with 10 points, just 1 more than Pakistan, bringing them in the top four.
