As the name of Head coach gets announced on Friday, the mistry still remains on who will be the next Batting, Bowling and Fielding coaches.

Cricket Advisory Committee cleared the air on Friday by announcing Ravi Shastri’s name as the Head coach of the Men’s Cricket team, which he will remain for the coming two years until 2021. From the beginning, there had been speculations of Shastri to retain his position.

Who will decide the Batting, Bowling and Fielding coaches? Who is in the race?

The big question arises is, who will fill the positions of the remaining coaches? As per the new rules of BCCI, the selection of the support staff of Team India will be done by the same authority who selected the players’ of the team. Chief Selector MSK Prasad will be responsible for choosing the support staff that comprises of Batting, Bowling and Fielding coaches along with other members.

Former England batsman Jonathan Trott, Mark Ramprakash, Amol Majumdar, Hrishikesh Kanitkar, Praveen Amre, Lalchand Rajput, Thilan Samaraweera and Vikram Rathore are all in the race for Team India’s Batting coach. According to reports, the possibility of Vikram Rathore getting selected for the position is quite high as Rahul Dravid has great faith in him as he has been the Batting coach for India A.

When it comes to choosing a Bowling coach, the names that have emerged as strong contenders are Darren Gough, Stephen Jones, Subroto Banerjee, Amit Bhandari, Paras Mhambrey, Venkatesh Prasad and Sunil Joshi. However, there have been speculations that the current Bowling coach, Bharat Arun may retain his position as the Bowling coach.

When speaking of the Fielding coach, there is a possibility of R Sridhar to retain his position, however he may have a hard times with Jonty Rhodes who has also applied for the same position.
