
After Team India’s untimely exit from the ICC World Cup where they suffered an 18-run defeat to New Zealand in the Semi-Finals, the BCCI on Sunday, announced the team for their upcoming tour to West Indies where they’ll be playing three T20s, three One-Day Internationals and two Tests.
The command is once again given to the captain Virat Kohli. However, this time the Selectors have made quite a few changes to the team as some players have been rested as they had been playing cricket consistently for some time.
Many young players have made it to the team while Mahendra Singh Dhoni declared himself to be unavailable for the tour.
Shreyas Iyer has made his way to the team as he will be included in the T20 and ODI team. He is a consistent performer who has contributed alot to domestic cricket. He had debuted in 2017 against Sri Lanka. He has played 6 One-Day matches where he scored 210 runs with 2 half centuries. He has also played 6 T20s where he scored 83 runs.
Navdeep Saini is also included in the team. In the last edition of Indian Premier League, he had shown remarkable bowling skill which was appreciated well. Many had thought that he might find a place in the World Cup squad but it never happened.
Krunal Pandya is the third young on he list who has made it to the team. His contribution to T20 and domestic cricket has been splendid. He played for Mumbai Indians in the recent edition of IPL.
Manish Pandey is also picked for the West Indies tour and he considered a good option for solving the problem of much talked about No. 4 position on the Team India squad.
