Star batsman Yuvraj Singh expressed his faith in all-rounder Hardik Pandya and believes that Pandya would take his current form to the upcoming mega tournament, ICC World Cup 2019. Yuvraj had been part of the World Cup squad in 2011 when India came out victorious.
Showing full faith and having huge expectations, Yuvraj Singh stated that Hardik is currently in his best form and has performed remarkably well in the on-going Indian Premier League 2019 and hopes that Pandya will extends his fabulous skills to the mega event. Continuing his words of praise, Yuvraj said that his 91 runs against the Kolkata Knight Riders was the best IPL innings he has seen.
Chief Selector MSK Prasad had earlier stated that Vijay Shankar would be batting at No. 4, however, there still remains an uncertainty. When Yuvraj was asked about the same, in a close guarded reply he said, “lt is the Selection Committee’s decision, according to me when you go back you need experience for whatever number you are batting. All five positions are very important. The conditions are going to be different, so I think it’s how you manage yourself under pressure. You will be put under pressure because the best teams in the world are playing. How the guys handle pressure in crunch situations is actually going to show the character of the team.”
