Virat Kohli Sachin Tendulkar 100 centuries

The three top batters are, Sachin Tendulkar (100), Virat (72) and Ponting (71) are in the list of most tons. With Virat scoring his 72nd hundred, the debate on whether Kohli could break Sachin’s record of 100 centuries has reignited.

But former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif believes it doesn’t matter to India if Virat ends with 200 centuries as the team needs ICC titles.

“The number of centuries doesn’t matter to the team as it needs ICC trophies. It has been years for the Men in Blue since they won a trophy. Whether Kohli scores 100 or 200 centuries doesn’t matter, as winning ICC titles is the most important thing for the team and fans. The fans and media are creating pressure on the Indian player for titles.

“Two-fifty over World Cups, the last two T20 World Cups, Asia Cup and Champions Trophy is gone. 100 centuries have its own place, but the team needs to win a title,” he said.
