Ishan Kishan opens up on comparison with Mahi!!

MS Dhoni is a prominent Indian cricketer. Though not India’s top run-scorer, his leadership, keepership, and impact on the game are unmatched.

After his retirement in 2020, several teenagers sought to replace him, notably Rishabh Pant, who is struggling with the bat.

Ishan Kishan, from Jharkhand, gave the selectors a problem following his double-hundred against Bangladesh in the 3rd ODI. After the innings, viewers compared him to MS Dhoni, making it hard for selectors to ignore him for the 2023 World Cup.

Ishan praised his idol and stated he would be delighted if he did half of what MS did for the country in response to the parallels.

“I take the comparisons in a very positive way. If people compare me with him, that means I have something in me. I will be happy if I achieve half of what he has done. He has won every trophy, and I also want to replicate the same for my country.”

Ishan spoke about his double hundred and revealed how his parents helped him stay humble.

“After scoring the double hundred. My dad and mom called me and said, ‘Ishan, now forget about it. Go to Ranji and play well there.”
