Former India player Madan Lal gave an opinion on India’s second successive series defeat in Bangladesh, accusing players of not being interested in playing.

India lost the second game by 5 runs, conceding the series 0-2 after losing the opening contest by 1 wicket.

 The team is already missing Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

Rohit Sharma, Chahar and Kuldeep Sen are out of the third and final game. “The team is not going in the right direction. I haven’t seen intensity and josh in the team in the last couple of years,” Lal told PTI in an interview.

“They are not like an Indian team. The passion of playing for the country is missing. Either the players are tired or they are just going through motions. This is a serious issue,” he added.

Referring to Rohit’s observation, Lal said: “It is unfortunate that the team captain is saying this. Something is seriously wrong.”‘

“Why unfit players are playing for India? If they want rest, let them give a break during the Indian Premier League. You are not winning the ICC trophies and the cricket in India is going down.”
